My Credentials
My health and wellness relevant credentials as well as a few relevant to my career and creative ambitions. I aspire to attain more.
UBC Science Undergraduate Degree, Major in Biochemistry

My undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia. It is a bachelors of science degree with a major of biochemistry. Obtaining this degree taught me the intricate mechanisms behind human metabolism, protein function, and chemical interactions. I also learned how to perform rigorous scientific research but now I apply it more towards exercise, nutrition, and recovery practices. When clients come with health concerns regarding their physical condition or medications, I am able to research how it affects their training with confidence and within my scope of practice as a trainer and coach.
ACE Personal Trainer Certificate

My personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise. With this I learned how to teach people what I am most passionate about; exercise. How to coach for strength, stamina, and stretching, create programs aligned with client goals and preferences, be mindful of a person’s abilities, and how to measure progress. This is the foundational certificate that started off my career.
ACE Behaviour Change Specialist Program

A person only changes if they want to change or recognize the need to do so. With this certification, I was taught to recognize how willing a person is to change, how to correspond accordingly, and how to best proceed forward if they feel ready to do so. I will always encourage my clients to strive for better.
Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coaching Certification

My nutrition certificate enables me to educate and create nutrition plans that work in conjunction with your training. I learned the science of nutrition, how to track and calculate calories, macros, and hydration, as well as how to implement this as your homework assignments I assign to you to further improve your results. We start with small habits that are easy to be consistent with before fortifying them with tougher challenges, though this part of the program is typically implemented after several months of training first. We walk before we run.
Precision Nutrition Sleep, Stress Management, & Recovery Coaching Certification

This certificate, also known as the PN SSR certificate, allows me to expand the homework assignments I assign you from beyond nutrition only to also include the realms of your sleep habits, stress management habits, and recovery habits. Therefore we have optionality in which aspect of your deep health is highest leverage and should be addressed first. These PN certifications also provide me with a plethora of questionnaires and assessments I can ask you to better understand your deep health habits and clarify what the best path forward is.
YogaRenew 200 Hour Yoga Teaching Certification

This course taught me the history of yoga from its ancient meditative practices thousands of years ago in India to its modern day iterations of breath and stretching. There are numerous styles of yoga, though the ones I teach and implement during our sessions are hatha, yin, and vinyasa. Hatha is deep stretches and positions we hold for several breaths before flowing into the next sequences. Yin is holding deep and relaxing poses for longer durations to facilitate mindfulness and recovery. Vinyasa is a flow where we move in and out of movement in accordance with our breath, building strength and stability.
Most of our sessions are Hatha because hatha is a balance between deep stretch and strong flows, though I do implement yin and vinyasa as need be. We also do some meditative breathwork occasionally if it seems helpful.
